Pure zeolite LTJ synthesis from kaolinite under hydrothermal conditions and its ammonium removal efficiency

Linde type J zeolite was synthesized out of kaolinite raw material through hydrothermal reactions, once potassium hydroxide used as an activator. The physicochemical characteristics the were surveyed by using XRD, SEM/EDX, and FT-IR analytical methods. Moreover, capability Type for ammonium ion removal from aqueous solutions evaluated in present study batch adsorption experiments. Further, concentration remnant leachates measured making use photometry analysis. Subsequently, Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin Dubinin–Radushkevich isotherms applied to describe data obtained studies. findings verified highest R 2 values Freundlich isotherm model assuming on heterogeneous surface. Furthermore, kinetic studies indicated process follows pseudo-second-order denoting rate controlled chemical sorption. In a nut shell, zeolite, which kaolinite, demonstrated its brilliant performance sorption solutions. This can guarantee probable potential LTJ purification applications.
